Northeastern has empowered me in many ways, but the most prominent is easy to pick: it’s the incredible people here. From the most inspirational professor I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with to the young women who helped me conquer my fear of public speaking, I have learned to “get out of my own way” – because the only obstacle we face in achieving our goals is ourselves.
I made the video below to show the massive appreciation that our class of 19 girls has for Greg Goodale and our terrific TA Kate Contreras. I watched a class grow into something much, much more than that, and I was lucky enough to experience this my freshman year at Northeastern. Going on to become a peer mentor, I hoped to spread what I learned in that class to a new set of freshmen. There’s no better feeling than getting new Communication Studies majors excited about the future possibilities and what’s to come. Now, as a second semester sophomore, I’m on my first co-op somewhere I’d never dreamed of working before – Reebok International, Ltd. Northeastern continues to push me forward even when I’m off campus every day, and I couldn’t ask for anything more.
